ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Caroline Liu is a painter, muralist, and fiber artist currently living/working in Albuquerque, NM.
Liu holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of New Mexico and has exhibited work in galleries all across the Midwest and the Southwest. She spent a good chunk of her 20’s in Chicago where she painted murals throughout the area, as well as for international companies such Google, Facebook, and Vans.
She says about her work:
"Bridging the two unique perspectives that form my identity, my work explores my experiences as a late-diagnosed Audhd (autistic + adhd) person and my tribulations with short-term memory loss as a result of multiple concussions in the last decade.
By balancing between the two, I am able to create fantastical narratives that bind together magic and realism that spark larger conversations of loss, joy, and the eternity of self. I explore these themes by transporting viewers into my own subconscious, filled with bright pops of color, textural elements, and refractive light so as to bridge the gap between memory and physicality."
